A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of Kada Scott, a 23-year-old Philadelphia nursing assistant and Miss USA hopeful who vanished nearly two weeks ago after leaving for her overnight shift.
Kada Scott was last seen by her mother on October 4, 2025, when she left home for her nursing job in Chestnut Hill. She was scheduled to work an overnight shift from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., but she disappeared before completing it. Her car was discovered parked outside her workplace, but Scott herself was nowhere to be found.
The Arrest
Keon King, 21, now faces kidnapping charges for his alleged involvement in Scott's disappearance. According to Philadelphia police, King was in communication with Scott during her last shift and had reportedly driven to pick her up from her workplace.
Authorities are urgently searching for King's vehicle—a
1999 metallic gold Toyota Camry with license plate MSX-0797—which investigators believe Scott was inside at some point. Police have described locating this vehicle as "imperative to the case".
In a troubling development, officials revealed that King ditched both his car and his phone before his arrest. He is currently being held on
$2.5 million bail.
Disturbing Warning Signs
Before her disappearance, Scott had told family and friends she was
receiving harassing phone calls, which raised additional concerns among investigators. Police reported having "some concern, more so than usual" given these circumstances. Scott was officially reported missing on October 5, sparking a citywide search.
Suspect's Criminal History
King has a troubling history involving women. Earlier in 2025, he was charged with
kidnapping and strangulation in a separate incident involving a female acquaintance. Though those charges were initially dropped, prosecutors have now
reopened that case following his latest arrest.
